New Years guidance, Sundance, and other January 2026 Events

We hope the holiday season was restorative and filled with good cheer, the making of many great memories, and indulgence of some delicious foods by our many friends, clients, and partners!

With the new year, clients are reminded that your legal entities may have annual filing requirements for your state of formation as well as franchise tax obligations. Be sure to connect with your attorney and accountant, as applicable, to make sure you are taking all the necessary steps to ensure your entities are in compliance. Please note that many statutory representative companies do not necessarily file these documents unless you’ve specifically engaged them for that service. If using a third-party provider, be sure to connect with your point of contact at that provider to confirm if they will handle those filings and if any additional information is needed from you.

As the firm jumps into the new year, we’re ready to hit the ground running. In January, while we will have our noses to pen and paper for much of the month as our clients prepare for and launch the many upcoming productions ahead, we also have the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL on our radar. It is a bittersweet moment as we bid farewell to this last festival event in Park City.

Alexa will be in attendance and is taking meetings January 23rd through the 27th. You can request a time to connect in the calendar at the bottom of this post or by reaching out to info@wamentertainmentlaw.com to coordinate via email.

Alexa will also be providing her legal and business insights on indie filmmaking while speaking at two events at the festival outlined below:
